Three teams of students from our Career Program (CP) competed in the 2019 Entrepreneurial Challenge hosted by BSU's Venture College - think 'Shark Tank'. One team won the Consumer Product division (and a 1st place $1,000 cash prize); their product was a new gaming keyboard. Our CP teams also took 3rd and 4th place in the Technology division. Congratulations!

Sage’s IB Career Programme (CP) is a two-year endeavor beginning in 11th grade and continues through graduation. During their high school career, CP students complete all coursework required to obtain their Idaho Diploma while also completing IB-specific coursework. In addition, during the 11th grade, CP students learn the personal and professional skills (PPS) needed to be successful in the workplace. The IB curriculum for this course includes extensive study and practical application of: Business Essentials; Intercultural Understanding; Communication; Thinking Processes; and Ethics. Sage's 11th grade PPS curriculum also includes an entrepreneurial unit, which focuses on the creation of a product or service, and all of the various skills and components that go into starting a business.
During the 12th grade, CP students focus on their IB Reflective Project, where students are responsible for researching and developing a large scale project based around an investigation into an ethical dilemma that could arise in their career field. Students also focus on Service Learning and making sure that all language acquisition requirements have been completed. Along with this, and perhaps what sets Sage’s Career Programme apart, during their senior year, each CP student is placed in an Internship of their choice in the community. The number of hours accrued during the internship varies with each placement, however, students have the ultimate goal of completing 280 hours at their internship, thus earning the state certified CTE certificate, in addition to their Idaho Diploma and their IB Career Certificate.
